So, here's the answer! On
WORLD BOOK DAY, I was in West Bromwich as the "Guest Author" at Sandwell Libraries Literary Quiz Final. Well done, you four fantastic teams! Friday was a visit to
ASHVILLE COLLEGE PRE-PREP SCHOOL for happy afternoon sessions with their Early Years & KS1 pupils.
Then on to this week's visit, and even I can't quite believe the schedule. On Monday I was at
SAINT MARTIN'S AMPLEFORTH with talks to the children and a shorter talk as part of a Parents Evening. On Wednesday I was working in
KNARESBOROUGH LIBRARY creating stories for the
feva STORYMAT Project.
Yesterday (Thursday) and today (Friday) I've been all the way across to Hull to visit some of the young readers who have been taking part in the
HULL LIBRARIES CHILDREN'S BOOK AWARD. Back there again on Monday. These last three weeks have been madly hectic (and not a lot of writing done either!) but it has been a time of great fun and lots of brilliant children! Next Tuesday's my personal "end of term."
And this weekend? I'm having a really, really quiet time - apart from a short burst of African drumming on Saturday!
NORTHERN LIGHTS AND BRUMMIE SIGHTS
And in between some special World Book Day Week visits!
On Monday I went to visit BELMONT GROSVENOR PRE-PREP SCHOOL out in Nidderdale. It's a huge old house with so many stairs everywhere (and me with my bags and baskets! Groan!) but really nice times telling stories and talking about my books to all the eager young listeners there.
On Tuesday I was away North to
ALNWICK GARDENS, with the light of the sun shining on the sea and on the snow atop the Cheviots. I was meeting some Northumbrian teachers to talk about storytelling and writing.
On Wednesday - today! - I was back in Yorkshire, taking part in
LEEDS LIBRARIES CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL 2008. I was at
OTLEY LIBRARY this morning, meeting Years 3&4 from
ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL, and we had great fun.
In the afternoon I was at
HORSFORTH LIBRARY to chat to the full-of-words Green Class from
WEST END PRIMARY SCHOOL, who told me all about their OWN happy writing times, too.
Now I'm trying to have a VERY restful evening, ready for a drive down to
WEST BROMWICH TOWN HALL near
BIRMINGHAM tomorrow, Thursday. Why?
You'll just have to wait and find out!Happy WORLD BOOK DAY for tomorrow, everyone!!!!!!
