DAYS WITH A STORYMAT AND A STORY TENT!
Today's my last STORYMAT
session for Knaresborough's feva Festival
. The second session was on Tuesday, and this will be the third. While I'm looking forward to the event, I'm also feeling a tiny bit sad when I think about all the people I've met and fun I've had during the project - and today, for me, it all comes to an end. However, the fabric collage will soon be brightening the walls of the library, and schools can borrow the Storymat & the Once Upon A Storymat book, and make up their own stories, so the project's energy will go on. A happy thought!
Yesterday was a long drive (thank heaven's that it's the school holidays!) over to the MERSEYWAY SHOPPING CENTRE
in Stockport, for sessions telling stories and reading my books to children and families. It was part of STOCKPORT LIBRARIES "READING COMES ALIVE!"
event, set in a comfortable marquee and a kind of throne for me to sit on. The throne was imposing for a while, but somehow I also ended up kneeling on the library mat singing nursery songs with the young audience. A really nice day, especially as the rain didn't rain on me, and the sun did shine. Thanks to all the organisers & helpers!
