FINGERS MIGHTILY CROSSED!
For ages I've been trying to pull a story together, slipping between moods of despair, worries about research, with writing energy consumed by school visits and other stuff. Even writing this blog! Well, recently I have been working extra hard at it, and today today today I got to the END!
Of course, it may not truly be "the end", as once the thing has been read by useful critics, I may well hear that draft is unreadable, the plot impossible and every other fault, and I need to start work all over again. But hey, that's for the future! Tonight, I am content to just feel HAPPY!
Also happy to be seeing everyone at SUNNYBROW PRIMARY SCHOOL, Willington, near Crook in County Durham on Tuesday. Greetings, all!
THANKS FOR YOUR STORY IDEAS!
Thanks to everyone at MOORSIDE CPS for all the ideas that helped us to build up today's great stories, and poem.
Had a very special surprise, because an author I know - the great DAMIAN HARVEY - was there too, visiting the younger children. Nice to meet up again, even if for about ten minutes over lunchtime. Hope you had a happy journey back to Blackpool.
I once put a picture on my blog, but seem to have lost the knack, But am trying to find out the answer. Watch this space!
Bye, everyone!
Hello again. Seems ages since I wrote anything here! I did manage to escape for a lovely week's holiday in SOUTHWOLD, so that's one excuse.
The other is that I've been working on a long story and really needed to concentrate on it to keep all the imaginary plates spinning, and the storyline on track. It' s the sort of writing that isn't easy to do when I'm busy darting about with school visits. Now I am going through the full draft again, hoping that some of the words may still be working. I am trying to get as much done as possible while life is fairly quiet, though hello to everyone at MOORSIDE PRIMARY SCHOOL, Halifax where I'll be this Friday.
Talking of school visits, requests are starting to come in again, though I'm feeling stupid about my admin system and have forgotten which documents are which! Too deep into the storywriting, I'm afraid. So, callers, if you got an odd attachment from me, just let me know!
Wishing you all, small and big, a very happy new school year!
