Down the motorways to Dudley on Tuesday, past swirling rivers far wider then their usual banks, and flood plains deep in water. Impressive to see, but not for those who have to put up with the ugly task of tidying up afterwards, or the farmers with crops rotting in the ooze.
I had a much more cheering day at DUDLEY SCHOOLS LIBRARY SERVICE on Wednesday, meeting keen readers from PETER'S HILL PRIMARY SCHOOL and HAM DINGLE PRIMARY SCHOOL and ST JOSEPH'S PRIMARY SCHOOL (Dudley) in the morning, and readers from CHURCH OF THE ASCENSION PRIMARY SCHOOL and BLOWER'S GREEN PRIMARY SCHOOL in the afternoon. Thanks to everyone who helped to arrange the day!
A distant Yorkshire wave to the pupils of AMBLECOTE PRIMARY SCHOOL, where a sudden end-of-term surprise (in the shape of an envelope from OFSTED) had disrupted plans. Missed seeing you, but here's wishing you happy reading anyway!
