Hello, I'm back again! All that's left of Easter's are a few chocolate crumbs under the sofa, and a few extra inches somewhere I am ignoring.
Recently, I've been working on a thirty-minute play for adults. Trying to tell a story dramatically, rather than through prose fiction, is an interesting learning & thinking experience. It's about an author book signing in a small independent bookshop, and all totally fictional, except for the effect of modern bookselling practices.
Called SIGNING, my play is on at HARROGATE THEATRE, as part of their 4PLAY New Writing Project, on Thursday 4th May. So I'll let you know how it goes. Just now, I'm going along to rehearsals, and marvelling at director MADELEINE FROST'S calm encouragement of everyone - as well as the good humour of the actors as they cope with a very "busy" play.
But with the play-script already done, I've been working on a new idea. It's at that scary but exciting writing stage, where all seems possible.
Hi everyone, especially all the RAINBOWS and their helpers who meet at St PAUL'S CHURCH, Harrogate. In a moment, I'll be hurrying on my way to tell you some stories. Hope you'll enjoy them! More good news is that I am now over the flu, and almost full of energy again. Hope to have lots to tell you on my next blog entry, so keep reading. Must rush! Byeeee! . . . . . . Back home again now. Thank you, Rainbows, for the pretty pink primula and the chocolatey Easter cake.(Yum yum!) And for signing all your names so carefully on my card.
