On Saturday I was on my knees! Not with too much shopping, but partying with some very little ones at ALLERTON BYWATER LIBRARY'S BOOKSTART LAUNCH. Thanks to everyone who came and who arranged the fun!
Today felt even more Christmassy, as I was at a crowded children's afternoon in HARLOW CARR GARDENS. Lots of glitter and glue and sequins and greenery and twigs, and some of my seasonal stories. Came home in just the right mood for putting up decorations. Ho ho ho, etc!
So, in case I don't get back to this blog during the business of the next few days, a VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO MY READER/S!
DOES CHRISTMAS START HERE?
Last school gig of the season yesterday, and a lovely one it was. Down to RIDDLESWORTH HALL SCHOOL, near Diss. Following the car of my kind overnight host from Norwich, I drove through an amazingly beautiful dawn landscape - frost-pale, pink and blue and mauve - to arrive at a handsome house among fields and trees.
Then a busy but happy day talking about my own work, and scribing up our stories about a)ghostly horseys and b)abandoned reindeer (alias horseys with twiggy things on their heads!) Plus an afternoon having fun with the Pre-Prep Department.
Meanwhile, there were scurries for fancy dress and carol services, and a sense of end of term excitedness. A happy buzz to take back to my lone writer's den. Thank you, everyone, for a very friendly day!
