First, a hello to the pupils from HOOKSTONE CHASE PRIMARY SCHOOL, Harrogate, whom I met today, telling them stories as part of their Harlow Carr Gardens "Tree Day" adventure. I had a happy Pumpkin Day storytelling there on Saturday, so another hi to anyone I met among the orange squelchy goo around on that day.
And the greatest of thanks & cheers to the totally wonderful KNEEHIGH THEATRE COMPANY, and their totally amazing "Tristan and Yseult", seen at the West Yorkshire Playhouse on Saturday. A mesmerising production, balancing humour and sorrow as cleverly as they balanced all the physical action - and the mix of usic and lights and simple but stunning effects. All I can say is if ever any ANY grown-up reader wants to see stunning theatre, look out for the name of this company. Kneehigh started as theatre for children, but their work now is definitely for grown people.
(Now over Manchester way, I think!)
Must go. Hurrying off to do a chat about storytelling somewhere in York this evening. ZOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmm!
