Back after a busy two days in London, seeing people about all sorts of book things. But also got to see the adaptation of Jamila Gavin's CORAM BOY at the Olivier Theatre. Intriguing to see how the events of a very full novel had been reshaped or developed into impressive, emotional stage moments. Strong drama, with some truly poignant smaller details.
Wasn't sure how the school parties in the upper seats would like it, but as I was going down the crowded stairs, two girls - their eyes all shining - burst out with "It was wonderful! Did you think it was good?"
Yes - and hello to everyone at MORPETH SCHOOL in Bethnal Green -I DID,and glad to know you did too. Definitely a great experience!
