SO, BOOK WEEK THANKS TO . . .
So, CHILDREN'S BOOK WEEK thanks to lots of people. First - Monday! - hello to Years 3&4 at ST. OLAVE'S SCHOOL,YORK. Lovely, especially the way the well-stocked, comfortable library welcomes children for all sorts of reading during break times.
Then - Tuesday! - had fun at ILKLEY LIBRARY, sharing some stories with Reception classes from MILLFIELD SCHOOL & ALL SAINTS SCHOOL, then a more intense author session with Year 5 readers from BEN RHYDDING PRIMARY SCHOOL.(How did your mysterious Friday outing go, then?) The afternoon was over the hills, but not far away: SILSDEN LIBRARY, where I enjoyed meeting Year 1 from AIRE VIEW INFANTS SCHOOL.
Book Week Wednesday started with a long foggy drive, but ended in a nice time of stories and book-chat with the children of SEDBERGH PRIMARY SCHOOL, CUMBRIA. Then Year 3 classes at REINWOOD JUNIOR SCHOOL wrote poems with me for NATIONAL POETRY DAY on Thursday.
By Friday I was literally down on the mat! On that day, I was busy sharing books and story-drawing for lively two and three year olds at COMPTON ROAD LIBRARY, LEEDS, where the next round of BOOKSTART was being launched. Congratulations to all involved - and happy reading!
