Back home now, trying to catch up with my work, but had a good time away this week.
Wednesday was the Nottingham CBA Celebration, where I enjoyed meeting young readers from six different schools. So, hello to the pupils of MELLERS, ELMS, LEATON, SOUTHGLADE, WESTGLADE and BOSWORTH Primary Schools. Hope you enjoyed the day too!
Thursday's visit was to Walker Books to discuss a new book, maybe for their 2006 list! Not too many changes needed to the manuscript, though some pathetically stupid writing errors. How come I can't see the faults when I send it in? Grrrrrr! Actually, I'm jumping for joy here. It feels fantastically cheering to know there's a book on the publication horizon! (Sorry, folks. Overdrive on the exclamation marks!!!!!)
Then a briskly chilly crossing of Vauxhall Bridge, and a browse around in Tate Britain - and a walk between the vast, iron and wood Caro sculptures. Picked up a few postcards to use as "visual stimulus" on writing workshops. Amazed to find so few postcard images that I could use with boys - other than to raise a snigger, of course. Best not to go there - certainly not in school hours!
